The CL & CGB National Band is a youth military style marching band consisting of musicians aged between 10 and 25 drawn from members of the CL & CGB from around Great Britain. Current members travel from as far North West as Lancashire, North East as North Yorkshire, South West as Devon and South East as Essex.

The band comprises of 5 sections
- Brass and Woodwind
- Mixed Percussion
- Bugles
- Side Drums
- Mallets (Tuned Percussion)
Within each section is a range of abilities and ages who all train and perform together.
The National Band aims to provide the opportunity for young people to perform concerts and marching routines to a high standard whilst developing the musical, personal and leadership skills of its members.
We provide:
- Quality instruction in music, drill and leadership led by professional teachers, musicians and experienced band members
- Advice and support for companies in band related challenges
- Performances at major events
The training is delivered in a series of Band Weekends by a team of leaders who give up their own time for the love of the band, many of whom have grown up through the ranks and understand the positive influence the experience can have. We also benefit from a large number of ex members who have moved on to become professional musicians in the armed forces; almost all weekends are attended by at least one member of the Her Majesty's Forces including bandsmen of the Royal Logistics Corp and the Royal Marines Band Service.
